There’s one thing that I despise in life, it’s the rats that invade your space! Not the ones that you purchase from the pet store and keep in nice cages with all the toys. I’m talking about the rats that find a way in your home and decide to eat your food. They don’t just eat at your place at your expense but they leave a mess! To me, it’s similar how the devil works. He finds a way into your life and takes what doesn’t belong to him (robs you of your blessings) and leaves a mess (see John 10:10).
The Bible says, “Don’t give the devil a chance.” (Ephesians 4:27 GNT)
When Jesus encountered Satan, He didn’t allow temptation to get the best of Him. Jesus didn’t play around with temptation. He didn’t even consider it in His mind. Jesus already decided in His heart that no matter what comes His way, He was going to make the right decisions. He was going to live His life for God. He knew what God’s Word said concerning how to live His life. He wasn’t going to compromise His values and beliefs. In other words, He didn’t give the devil a chance.
God has also warned the Christians not to give the devil a chance in their lives too. In other words, be firm in your decision to follow Christ and His ways. There’s nothing more irritating than having rats in your home, eating your food, and leaving a mess at your expense!
